Currently Testing: Haircare

August 21, 2014

Over the past few weeks i've been sent a few new bits, especially hair care bits which I have been testing out. I thought i'd start a new little series about all the bits i'm currently testing, giving you guys my first impressions and thoughts, and then i'll go onto fully reviewing them if I feel fit to.
First up is a few samples from the lovely folks over at Moroccan Oil and they were lovely enough to send me a couple of bits to try, as my hair has been horribly dry what with the warm weather we've been having.

I've really been enjoying the Moroccan Oil Hydrating Mask Light 75ml* (£8.95) which is a deep conditioning mask designed to hydrate and improve the hair elasticity. I've been using this 2-3 times a week in place of my conditioner, leaving it to do it's thing for a good 5-7 minutes and then rinsing. I've noticed my hair has been so shiny and the general condition of my hair is slowly improving. The Moroccan Oil Treatment* (£13.95) is a product i've wanted to try out for a while, as hair oils have been welcomed into my hair care routine but this is said to be the daddy of hair oils. It definitely thicker than any oil i've tried before, but a little goes a long way and has really been helping to make my hair feel so much silkier. I can see this sample bottle lasting me well. Lastly, the Moroccan Oil Luminous Hairspray 75ml* (£6.15) is different to most hairsprays as it doesn't leave your hair with that sticky hair spray residue. It's really light on the hair and really works to keep my beachy waves in place, and not to forget it smells incredible.

Moving onto the upcoming L'oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oils range, which the lovely people at L'oreal were kind enough to send me over. Aimed at those with dry hair, this range contains six oil extracts designed to restore the hairs nourishment gage without leaving your hair feeling weighed down, and is also kind to the scalp.

The range contains two types of the L'oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Nourshing Shampoo*, one for hair that is kind of dry, dull and rough looking, and the other for the very dry and rebellious hair types. I've been testing out both of the shampoos using the lighter one for most days, which is a lot more lighter on the hair and instantly softens the hair, leaving it feeling silky. For the days where my hair is looking a lot more dull, i'll opt for the more nourishing shampoo, which appears more like a usual shampoo but is a lot more nourishing, and i've actually preferred using this one out of the two.   I've also been really loving the L'oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Conditioner*, which i've just been using as a typical conditioner. What I like is that it contains what appears like shimmer within the formula, and it really makes my hair so soft and shiny. Overall i've really been loving this range, and I can't wait for it to be released so I can try out the hair mask.

So that is everything i've been testing out for my hair recently.
