Brow Maintenance 101

August 04, 2014

Brows isn't something that I talk about that often on the blog, mainly because my routine has not really changed ever since I started filling in my brows after dyeing my hair a darker colour, but more so recently i've been switching it up in the brow department and i've found that I can now trust more than one product to get the 'perfect brows'.
Beginning with my trusty HD Brows 'Foxy' Kit, which I have featured many a time on the blog and you will all know how much I love this palette. This teamed with the Real Techniques Brow Brush and you've got a match made in heaven, as the shades available across the HD Brows Kit's will work for anyone. Now it seems that HD Brows have recently switched up their brow kits for their new Eye & Brow Palette (£25), which in my eyes looks better than the original palettes as these now include a highlighter and a wax to set your brows.

Moving onto the first of the new additions to my brows, which is the Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eyebrow Shaping Kit* (£2.50). First of all this brow palette is a steal at £2.50, and it works just as well as my HD Brows Kit. I have this in the shade 'medium-dark' as my brows are quite dark, and the three shades in this palette all work really well for me. It also includes a wax, which is brilliant as it really helps to keep my brows in place as I often find they start to look a bit worn as the day goes on, especially in the warmer weather we've been having. Overall love this kit and it's definitely one for travelling.

The last of the new additions comes in the form of the Benefit Gimme Brow (£17.50), which I received for my birthday and it has honestly changed my brow routine for the better. I have this in the darker shade and it's great for filling in my brows in a few different ways. Firstly if i'm having a very light makeup day, running this through my brows just helps to make them look a little more put together. Secondly, it works great with either of the brow kits i've mentioned previously, just to help set and keep my brows in place. Lastly, it just makes my brows look awesome! Love this and I highly recommend.

So that is a little insight and update into how I maintain my brows. If you have any recommendations of any other products I should try, then please leave them in the comments.

  1. I'm so bad at maintaining my brows, I tend to just brush through them with a spooly and leave them but I really want to get the Gimme Brow as it sounds like something I can quickly use in the morning :)

  2. I LOVE HD Brows kit, the colour is a perfect match for me and it holds my brows in place for hours. Gimme Brow on the other hand, I just can't work with. It's one of those 'I can't see the hype' products! x

  3. I need to try the Makeup revolution products soon because I've read many reviews by beauty bloggers raving bout the products and makes me want to try it out for myself. I am a lover of keeping my brows maintained and my favourite eyebrow product is from Sleek which has a slightly waxy texture which keeps the brows in place.

Thank you for reviewing, you have lovely photographs too :)
    Have a wonderful day!

  4. I love my HD brow palette, its been well loved but is a little pricey. I'm considering purchasing the Lily Lolo pressed eyebrow duo next which is £7.99 (if I remember correctly). x

  7. I picked up the essence brow kit so I could test how I liked my brows being filled in with powder before I invested in something more pricey but after using it for a year I honestly haven't felt the need to go searching for another product!
