Benefit They're Real! Review

May 19, 2013

As every beauty lover and Benefit lover out there knows, Elle magazine's freebie for their April issue was a mini version of Benefit's best selling product their 'They're Real!' mascara which is also named the no.1 best selling mascara in the UK!

I know a lot of bloggers have been posting their own thoughts on this product recently but I also really wanted to give you guys my own review of this product as it's a product that I have been wanting to try out for ages and now that I finally have it's like I want to share my excitement and the experience!

Benefit describes this mascara as a mascara that is beyond belief, that lengthens, curls, volumises, lifts and separates the lashes making your lashes appear fake when really they're real! The brush is specifically designed to maximise the performance of the long lasting formula to enhance your natural lashes, revealing lashes that you never knew you had by giving you luxurious, silky lashes that won't smudge, clump or dry out.

They're Real Mascara - Boots (£19.50)
Looking at how Benefit describes this mascara I can definitely agree with them, you would not believe how long my lashes looked after I applied it, honestly it looked like I had fake eyelashes on. The brush definitely helps to add volume to your lashes and lifting them up to appear even longer whilst also separating the lashes and giving them a fanned out effect that you would normally associate with false eyelashes.

I have somewhat mixed reviews on this product because when I first tried it I wasn't overly wowed. Yes it did do exactly what it said on the packaging but I felt that it made my lashes feel really heavy and I don't know I just didn't know what to think about it but i've kind of grown to really love this product now that i've found my own method of using it. I normally will apply my everyday mascara to my lashes and then finish them off with this to add some definition to my lashes but I do not go anyway near my lower lashes with this product. It drys really quick and also I find stays put all day and even into the evening which is really good for a mascara as I find some tend to flake off or wear away as the day goes on but it does take some effort to take off. Overall I am really impressed with this product and I would definitely recommend it as this is probably one of the first mascara's that i've come across that does a really good job of lengthening and volumising my lashes without applying half of the mascara to my eyelid haha!

The only downside to this product for some people is the price with the mini version normally retailing for around £9 and the full size retailing for £19.50, which in my eyes isn't all that much if you compare it to high end brand prices which can be really pricey and for something you know is going to work it's not like you're wasting your money.

So that's my review! Did any of you manage to get your hands on this copy of Elle?

Hope you are all well!

xx
