So let's get straight into this months favourites. Starting off with the Bourjois Java Rice Powder (review here), i've been loving using this recently as it works lovely as an overall setting powder that adds a nice radiant glow to my skin that doesn't look oily at all, and how cute is the packaging?! Next up is my most recent addition to my RT collection and this is the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (review here). I've wanted this brush for ages and i'm so glad i've got my hands on it. It works amazing at buffing in my foundation and gives a flawless finish. I think I like this more than the Buffing Brush. Last makeup favourite of the month, the Collection 2000 Multiplier Mascara is probably the only mascara i've ever repurchased as soon as I have used the previous one up. It's just a lovely mascara that adds length and curl to my lashes that isn't clumpy or cakey at all. It's also super cheap! My last favourite this month isn't actually beauty related, but i've been burning this so much throughout October and that is 'Red Apple Wreath' Yankee Candle. I brought this last year after Christmas in the sale and i'd burnt it here and there but hadn't really appreciated it all that much. Anyway, I had my first uni deadline last week and I was finding it really hard to focus so I thought that burning this might help and it sure did, whilst also making my room smell all festive!

So that is my October favourites, what have you been loving this month?

The Bourjois Java Rice Powder is a reinterpretation of their legendary Java Rice Powder from 1879, in order to celebrate their 150th anniversary. It's ultra fine and velvety texture is said to boost the skins radiance, smooth the complexion and set your makeup in place.

 Can I first of all point out how frigging cute the packaging is, it was actually inspired by the vintage packaging of their original java rice powder and I just love the vintage feel to it! Now from what i've read and heard about this powder is that it can be used in a number of different ways - the first as a subtle highlight and the second as a translucent setting powder, kind of a dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders but no way near as good. I've been using this powder both ways but mainly as an all over powder to set my makeup as I do find as a highlight it's a little too subtle for my liking, but it does work on those days where i'm going for a barely there kind of look that needs a little lift.

This powder has a slight rose tint to it with little flecks of shimmer running through, which adds a nice luminous glow to your skin that doesn't look oily or shiny at all, in fact i've noticed since using this that my skin hasn't been looking oily or shiny at all lately. Another thing to note, is the rotatable closing plate inside allows you to dispense the powder when you want rather than it going everywhere when you open it and losing about half of it on the floor, very handy indeed!

All in all I think this a great little product to have, it's small enough to throw in your hand bag and it's travel friendly packaging means you can use it on the go without any messy disasters.

I'm sure you all own a bottle of crackle nail polish, whether it's the BarryM ones or another brand but i've used my Nails Inc Camden Crackle Topcoat and i've used this as a topcoat over the Revlon Mad for Mango, which makes the perfect orange shade. I applied two coats of this, allowed it to dry and then applied the topcoat to give the crackled effect. Easy and simple.

Starting with my bed, which is the Ikea Leirvek Bed. I've had my eye on this bed for such a long time and I love that I finally have a double bed. As you can see I have a slight obsession for floral bedding, this duvet set is also from Ikea and I just love it! (I picked this up Sunday just gone, so i'd head down to your local Ikea if you're thinking of picking it up). As I wanted my bed to be really cosy i've got a bunch of cushions to do just that, some are floral and some are just simple as i'm going for a simple feel to my room. Next is my shelving unit, now I was going to have this next to my desk but my room turned out smaller to what I originally thought so it is now a storage area for my hair stuff as well as random bits and pieces. The storage boxes are also from Ikea and i'm glad I managed to get them to tie into the feel I want for my room.

Moving away from furniture - I've been burning my Yankee Candle so much recently, mainly to help me focus with uni work and surprisingly it has helped, whilst scenting the whole house ha! I've also got a bunch of conckers to keep the spiders away, sad but it works! Next is a little sneak peak into my makeup storage, but for now i'm just showing how I store my brushes. Now i'm sure i'm not the first to do this and I won't be the last but these candle pots from Ikea are so handy and look pretty at the same time! Last but not least is just a little look at my magazine collection, I do have more but they look pretty messy at the minute.

So that is just a few little details of my room. Hope you liked this kind of post as it's different from my usual beauty baffle. Also sorry for delay in posts, uni work is taking over my life and my car has broke down so i'm currently hunting for a new one. Life ay'!

This months box is themed the 'Beauty Buzz' box, featuring the award-winning and most hyped products at the minute from some truly amazing brands. This months box features a a new concept in the form of collectable cards with the low down on the products featured in this months, tips on skincare and much more, which is then expanded and in a lot more detail in the Birchbox Online Magazine - such a cool idea! Anyway onto this months truly amazing box and the products I received.

The first product in my box was the KMS California Curl Up Mousse, which I immediately knew would be up my street. I've been loving using curling boosting products to define my naturally wavy hair for the past couple of months seeing as I don't have that much time in the morning to style it properly, so i'm pretty excited to use this. Next up is the Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant, which i'd never heard of before but is said to reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and discolouration. Now, I do have a few acne scars and my skin tone is a little uneven so i'm intrigued to see what this can do. The next product is probably the most exciting of the whole box and this is the Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer! I've wanted to try a few Laura Mercier products for some time, this being one of them so i'm really excited to see how this works for me and there is another Laura Mercier sample in next months box! Another product i'm really excited about is the Dr. Lipp Nipple Cream for Lips, sounds weird but this is described as an SOS lip balm for dry lips, nipples and cuticles. Now let's be honest, who has dry nipples? Not me thats for sure (sorry to bring it up), but I do get very dry lips, especially in winter so i'm hoping this will sort that out. The last product in this months box is the theBalm Cosmetics Stainiac, which is basically a lip and cheek stain. To be honest, i'm not a huge fan of lip staining products as I find it so hard to remove them from my lips the next day but i'll give this a go and see how I get on with it.

In this months box I also received two extra samples, the first being my beauty extra - the Egyptian Magic a multi purpose healing skin cream made with six natural ingredients, sounds quite intriguing and i'll definitely see how I get on with these. The second product is actually different to what my product rundown says, but I received some Birchbox Eyelash Curlers which i'll happily welcome.. you can never have too many eyelash curlers I suppose.

All in all i'm so pleased with this months box and I defintely do not regret starting up my subscription with Birchbox!

What did you think of this months box?

Luckily my local Boots had the new shades in stock, as they are often pretty slow at getting new releases in stock straight away so I knew I had to pick up at least one of the shades.

Out of the two shades I decided to pick up the Bourjois Color Boost 'Plum Russian' Lip Crayon, which is the perfect plum/berry shade that I think I will wearing a lot this A/W. As soon as I swatched this on the back of my hand I knew I had to have it, seeing as I love my plum lip colours. Just like the other Color Boost Lip Crayons (review here), this glides on so smoothly leaving a pigmented glossy wash to my lips that can be easily built up to give a bolder lip look. I love how hydrating these are, especially as my lips are always super dry during the winter months and they last so well on my lips, so I can myself opting for this a lot more than my lipsticks this A/W.

If you haven't delved into the lip crayon world yet I would highly recommend starting off with these as they are super affordable and are often on offer in Boots. They also have a small, yet wide variety of shades where you could find one or two shades to suit you - I have four out of the six shades available and I love every single one of them!

I'm sure the majority of you have read endless reviews of many bloggers raving about this product and yes i'm going to be doing that to (sorry, not sorry) but this product deserves every one of those reviews!

The Origins GinZing™ Moisturiser is an energy boosting moisturiser that is said to instantly hydrate and rev up the skins radiance giving your skin a refreshed and vibrant healthy glow. Made with skin boosting ingredients such as Panex Ginseng and Coffee Bean to create a lightweight and oil free 'skin energy drink'.

I've recently been getting into taking care of my skin as before I didn't really have a skincare routine and my skin was definitely in need of some sort of lift as it was always dull and dehydrated, but a lot of products I found just didn't work for my combination skin type. After reading several reviews, all raving about this product I knew that I needed to see what all the hype was about, so I picked up a few samples from my local Origins counter and after using for them for about a week I knew that this was what my skin needed, which led onto me purchasing the full size. 

I've been using this for about a month now, I think and my skin has never looked as healthy as it does now due to this product and of course having a more solid skincare routine in place. I apply this both morning and night after I have cleansed and toned my skin using the tiniest amount ever - a little bit goes a long way with this product so it's definitely worth every penny! Once I have applied this and allowed it to sink in, you can almost instantly see it working it's magic by hydrating my skin and giving it a healthy glow that i've never really had before. Another thing I love about this product is the smell, it has a zingy orangey smell to it that almost instantly wakes you and your skin up - especially in the morning. The texture feels lovely on the skin somewhere between a gel/lotion that isn't too creamy, which leaves my skin feeling so nourished with no oily residue that I get with a lot of other moisturisers that I have tried. So far I haven't had any breakout's on my face, as i'm not one to get many breakout's so this is good as i've had some right disasters with a few previous products and I think it's safe to say this product will be one I repurchase over and over - that's if I ever manage to finish this pot!

I could go on and on about this product, but in my opinion it is amazing and I think would suit most, if not all skin types.

Not too bad, I was expecting it be worse than that but seeing as most of the products I use are from high street brands I wasn't expecting a massive shock. I've included the products that i'd use on a daily basis with my favourite lipstick thrown in there for good measure. I think i'll always be one to splurge on foundation, lipsticks and the occasional blusher but for me skincare is what i'd rather splurge on as your face isn't going to look good no matter how much you spend on it if you don't take care of your skin, in my opinion. I think if I was to redo this tag in a year or two my total would be probably double what it is now ha!

How much is your face worth? Do you use any of these products?

The polishes I picked up are from Color Clubs 'Girl About Town' Collection, which I hadn't really heard all that much about but I loved the look of some of the shades available. As I didn't like the look of all the shades in the collection, I picked up a quad set as I really liked 3 out of the 4 shades in it and the other shade i'll probably give to one of my friends or something.

The first shade I got from the collection is 'East Austin', which is this lovely orangey coral colour with a slight hint of pink to the shade. Now i've been on a mission to find a shade like this one but i'd had no luck but I think i've finally found it - I just wish I had when it was summer, as this is a perfect summery shade. Next up is 'Wicker Park', which is this girly pinky lilac shade. Again, i'd been hunting for a shade like this and I own a few very similar but this one is the prettiest as it has a really subtle pink undertone to the lilac that again is perfect for summer. Last but not least, is 'Williamsburg' as really pretty purple shade that has copper pinkish glitters running through it. I don't know why but this got me so excited for Christmas, as it's one of the nail varnishes that i'd usually wear around that time of year!

Now, as I said i've never tried out any Color Club nail polishes before but i'm so happy I got my hands on these. They are so cute, as they come in really little bottles that are really travel friendly but have just enough product in them before they start to go gloopy. The brush on the nail polishes are just a bog standard brush, which I don't mind at all as long as I can apply it. So far, these seem to have a good lasting power but I do need to get my hands on a good top coat!
