Lately I have been noticing more and more how neon is creeping back into fashion but in ways that I think a lot more of us would actually wear and be able to pull off and that is within statement jewellery pieces. As you all know I love my statement necklaces and I've been looking for a few new pieces to pick up when my loan comes in and i've come across so many pieces with small hints of neon that I've kind of grown to love the idea of adding colour to an outfit in a completely different way.

I thought I'd make a little mood board/wish list of a few pieces that I really like and to give you some ideas if you were looking to get in on this trend. Even though a few of these pieces are on the pricey side, in my eyes they would be investment pieces that you could add to your collection.

Out of all the pieces on this mood board/wish list I would definitely consider buying the following:

1. I love the look of this necklace from Topshop as it is a different take on the spike trend that has been with us for the past year or so and with the neon yellow hints I think this would look so cute with a soft knit jumper or a blouse. Even though this piece is quite pricey, it's so on trend and perfect for pulling off this trend.

5. This piece from Newlook I find totally cute and I love the use of both pink and orange together. I think this would look so cute with a plain tee and skater skirt to add a pop of colour whilst still look fab.

6. This necklace from Topshop is a more subtle way off adding neon to a piece of jewellery which again I think will work really well to add a pop of colour to a very minimal or simplistic outfit.

As i'm sure many of you know the monochrome trend is making a comeback this spring/summer season from all the monochrome styles seen at LFW and all over the magazine trends sections recently and I can't help but look at my winter wardrobe and want to start preparing it ready for the trends this summer, as summer is my favourite season from the light airy pastel shades and delicate floral prints that always seem to creep back into our lives every year! 

Now monochrome isn't something I would have ever associated with summer as I think 'black in summer, no no' but it seems the monochrome trend could easily be adapted with lighter weight and coloured fabrics with accents of black detailing and prints.

As a massive lover of Topshop I thought it would only be right to see what they're take on the monochrome trend would be like and see what they had to offer us on trend fashionistas! 

Starting with the beautiful striped skater dress, you could easily throw this on in the day with a cute pair of sandals and you're ready to go or you could dress it up in the evening with some chunky jewellery and heels as it is such a versatile and statement piece. Next onto the t-shirt dress, how cute is this!? Seriously, I could just throw this on over a body con mini skirt or a pair of shorts and I would feel ultrafab and super comfy all day long. Now the striped sleeveless vest again would be a great statement and staple piece as it so versatile just like the skater dress, you could wear it for so many different occasions and create so many different looks throughout the summer months. Like I said about the floral prints, I love what Topshop have done with the blazer, the mixing of the two trends works so well and this would be perfect on the cooler summer days where you could do with a jacket to throw on. Again the short sleeved t-shirt is perfect for those casual day to day outfits and could be worn in so many ways, tucked into high waisted shorts or worn loose over a bodycon mini. Finally the shoes! Aren't these so adorable but still fierce! Every girl needs a new pair of heels or two for the summer months especially as nights out are more on the cards as the nights are so much warmer than the winter ones!
