When it comes to my everyday makeup look I keep things very minimal, mainly because I only give myself a very small amount of time to do my makeup which means I really rely on a few select products to work quickly and last through out the day.

When it comes to my base i've really been loving the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation* (£31.50) because it is a perfect match for my skin tone and gives an absolutely amazing amount of coverage that lasts pretty much all day, and well into my evening gym session. As i've mentioned a few times, the main reason why I love this foundation is because of how light weight it is as it doesn't feel like you're wearing foundation whatsoever, which if you're like me in the fact that you hate feeling like you're caked in foundation then you will also love this foundation.

A palette that i've used every single day since I purchased it is the Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette (£37) and it's so true that everyone should own this contour kit. I love to use this for a couple of different things as it is actually somewhat versatile and isn't just for contouring. Now as i'm not a huge fan of the baking trend, I tend to use the top three shades to set my foundation and concealer in place, which sort of helps to highlight the under eye area also. I of course also use this to add a bit of light contouring to my face, and I mix two of the contour shades to create the perfect tone for my skin and then lightly apply to me cheek bones and my jawline to help combat my double chin.

Sticking with the cheek area, i've recently pulled out a few old favourites and really rekindled my love for them, and i'm so glad I have! Firstly is a blush that will always be a favourite of mine which is the Milani Luminoso Blusher (£10), which is probably the most loved blusher within the blogging community. It is a lovely coral pink baked blush with an absolutely beautiful highlight running through it that just makes the cheeks pop! Speaking of highlight another product i've been loving so much recently is the NYX Liquid Illuminator (£8) which is prettiest liquid highlighter i've ever used. This particular shade has a lovely pink tint to it that is so different to any shade that i've used and adds a lovely subtle highlight to an everyday look.

Finally a product I hadn't used for quite some time but I literally praise every time I do use it is the Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm (£9.50). I totally forgot that I had a pot of this and my lips have been unbelievably dry recently, so when I found this a few weeks ago I literally slathered it all over my lips and have been everyday since. It is genuinely amazing at keeping your lips nourished, but also lightly exfoliates any dry skin without making your lip crack and sore.

I initially found this favourites quite hard to pull together, as I haven't been trying that many new products this month, and I didn't want to just post about products i've already spoken a lot about. Having said that I wanted to talk about a few select products that have really surprised me this month and I wanted to give a bit of a first impressions on them.

If you caught one of my recent posts, then you will have seen that I recently had the opportunity to try out the L'oreal Smartbond Treatment as my local Regis Salon (of which you read my post here) and they very kindly sent me the L'oreal Smartbond 3 Conditioner* (£12.99) which is step three to the treatment of which you use at home in between salon treatments. I've used this a few times now, and although my hair is still amazingly soft after having the treatment i've noticed that this has continued to make my hair feel like it's been treated at a salon. Although it is early days and i've only had one treatment, it's definitely something I would highly recommend to anyone, who like me has quite damaged hair.

A recent purchase of mine that I never thought i'd make was for the Missguided Babe Power Perfume (£28). A friend of mine recently wore this and I couldn't get over how amazing it smelt so of course I jumped straight on their website to order it and of course I made sure to use their 30% student discount that they had on at the time. For me it's the perfect summer scent and has a lovely mix of fruity and floral notes, which is right up my street when it comes to fragrance. If you're on the hunt for a new fragrance that isn't going to break the bank, then i'd definitely recommend trying this out.

Lastly for this months favourites is the Nadia HNC Gel Nail Starter Kit* ($99.99) which is the perfect at home gel nail kit for anyone wanting to start trying gel nails at home but without the toxic chemicals that some kits contain. Although I did only receive this  a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to share my first impressions on this kit as it one of the best at home gel nails kits that I have tried. The kit comes in a small cary case containing everything you will need, including base & top coat, five polish shades, cuticle oil, LED lamp and a few different tools to help you achieve some cute nail art looks. The gel polish itself is of an amazing quality and the shades are so beautiful that i've found it hard to choose which shade to go for! I will be sharing a couple more posts on this kit in the coming weeks, with a few nails looks and also a more in depth review, so if you want to find out more on this kit then stayed tuned for that.

So those a few products that i've enjoyed over the past few weeks, of which I will be sharing more about over the next few months once i've really gotten to grips with all of them to give a more full review!

What products have you loved this month?

For many people that annoying thing about gel nails is the fact that you need a UV lamp to sure the gels, and gel nails are an absolute pain to remove but I happily go through all that for the long lasting and amazing finish. However Rimmel's latest release makes gel nails easy to achieve at home whilst still having that salon looking finish.

The Rimmel Super Gel Nail Polish* (£5.99) is Rimmel's first two step gel based nail polish which is designed to give you that salon finish and superior colour that lasts up to two weeks. What makes this two step system amazing is that they contain a patented gel colour system that works with natural light to cure the nails, making it easy to achieve gel nails at home and without the use of a UV lamp.

These gel nail polishes work quite similarly to how you would paint your nails with an ordinary nail polish in the sense that you apply a couple of coats of the gel colour, allow those to dry and then apply the gel top coat, and again allow that to dry. The difference however is that there is a built in base coat into the gel colour, so no need to prep the nails before applying the colour, and then applying the top coat leaves the nails with an incredible shine and a smooth finish that is durable, so you won't get any of the pesky marks in your nails.

As I have my finger nails done professionally I haven't used these polishes on my finger nails as of yet, but I have been rocking one of the brighter of the shades on my toes for the past week or so and so far i'm loving these polishes, and how amazing my toe nails look. These gel nail polishes are available in a variety of shades, and Rimmel kindly sent over five shades for me to try out and I can't wait to try these out in the coming summer months.

If like me you love your gel nails, but would prefer to have the opportunity to do them in the comfort of your own home and have them be easy to remove, then i'd highly recommend trying out Rimmel's latest release!

Have you tried out Rimmel's Super Gel polishes yet?

Ever since I started blogging i've learnt a lot about emerging beauty trends and how each year even more out there the beauty trends can get. Some of which I will get on board with, but those less wearable beauty trends is where I draw the line. So with that being said, here are a few beauty trends that I will not be getting on board with anytime soon.

Coloured eyeliner - Fair play to any girl that can actually wear coloured eyeliner and pull it off, but it takes me back to the days where i'd wear purple mascara and think I looked the bomb. Safe to say I didn't, and I definitely won't be picking up a bright coloured eyeliner anytime soon.

Unnatural looking brows - Now I love filling in brows, they define my face and make me look human but these recent trends where you literally make your brows look ridiculous is not for me. I've seen a few trends recently such as feather brows or barbed wire brows, and I just can't take any part of it seriously.

Bright pink eyeshadow - No just no. I can just about pull off a good bronzed smokey eye but applying a bright pink eyeshadow all over the lid and not much else.. it's a big no for me!

Fake freckles - This is one trend I just don't get. I mean freckles are a beautiful feature to have I used to have loads of freckles when I was younger, but I don't understand the fascination in drawing or even tattooing fake freckles on. Is this just me?

100 layer's of... - I mean when these started doing the rounds on Youtube, I literally prayed for the day that everyone realised they were just an absolute waste of product and weren't entertaining in anyway shape of form.

So those are a few beauty trends that I will never understand and won't be trying out anytime soon!

What beauty trends do you find odd?
