Nivea Express Hydration Primer Review

February 15, 2013

Hello everyone! Just wanted to apologise for the lack of updates this week but I have had a massive deadline at uni today so i've been working my bum off all week!

Anyway onto todays post! Now as you guys will have seen I purchased the Nivea Express Hydration Primer in my recent haul post and a lot of you asked for me to review this, soo.... here is my review!

The Nivea Express Hydration Primer is available in two formulas, one for normal/combination skin and one for dry skin and is a hydrating primer which you apply to your skin after cleansing and before you apply your makeup to create a base in order for your makeup to last longer through out the day. Now I would say I have combination skin but the dry skin formula appealed more to me as I have various dry patches on my skin so I purchased this one from Savers but you can also pick this up in Superdrug.

Now I really like this primer, after hearing a lot of mixed reviews I didn't know what I would think about it but as I have never really used a primer before I need to test out different primers to find one that works well for me and luckily this one does all I need it to. It applies so easily and absorbs into skin so quickly leaving it so smooth and I only have to apply the tiniest amount which means this primer will last me a long time, so this product is so worth the tiny pricetag! I have also noticed that it works really well at making my makeup last throughout the day, before I would often notice that after 2-3 hours of applying my makeup it would already be coming off but now using this primer it lasts at least 6 hours which is amazing for me. The only downside I have for this product is that I have noticed that I have had a few small breakouts which are pretty unnoticeable once my foundation is applied but I don't know if that is from this product or another product as I use several different products on my face which can change on a weekly basis.. but my breakouts seem to have cleared up for now, so fingers crossed it isn't this product that is causing them.

If you are looking to try this product but you don't want to purchase incase you won't get on with it you can order a free sample from Nivea here which I actually received after purchasing this product but I can keep this in my bag for when i'm out and about or what not.

Hope you guys liked this review, if you have any other questions on this product please feel free to ask!

xx

    1. I've heard a lot of good things compared to bad with this product! I know they don't even sell it in Boots, but superdrug and savers are run by the same company! xx

  4. I find that primers make my dry patches look terrible when I apply foundation, but this one might just work! Thanks for sharing!

  5. I've heard mixed reviews about this primer, some people love it some people really dislike it. Glad it works for you, just sucks that it might be breaking you out. I hate that when you try new products, and you almost don't want to believe it.

I've started just using a luminous moisturiser as my primer and it actually makes the makeup gone on a lot easier than with silicon based primers but I don't really know what to use anymore, ha.

  7. Great review - I have never tried a nivea product I haven't liked , but I am happy with my primer (despite the price) the Benefit porefessional. It has to be my favourite primer EVER! haha :D
Mostly because I am very conscious of my huge pores on my cheeks - and it covers them beautifully, is smooth to apply and lasts a long time :D <3
Really well reviewed Charlotte :D <3
