L'oréal Elvive Smooth & Polish Review

May 10, 2013

Today i've got another review for you guys as I featured these products in my April Favourites post and a few of said you hadn't heard of this new range from L'oréal Elvive so I thought i'd do a review on both the shampoo and conditioner from this range and just share how I have got on with these products.
The L'oréal Elvive Smooth & Polish range is designed to be used on fine to normal hair which can be often wispy and lacking softness. Enriched with keratin polish to smooth strand by strand and to polish away wisps and flyaways whilst also calming static. It is said to have a weightless result from the camellia extract enriched formula to soften the hair and to give a weightless feeling, flowing finish and silky to touch.
As my hair has been lacking some much needed nourishment for quite sometime my quest in finding the perfect hair care products has proved somewhat difficult. When I first saw the advert this new range I immediately knew that I needed to at least give it a try as I liked the idea of this range smoothing strand by strand and my hair fits the type of hair this range is designed for as it is sometimes wispy, static and lacking softness.

Smooth & Polish Shampoo
Elvive Smooth & Polish Shampoo (£1.99) - Boots
I was so excited to see what this shampoo did for my hair as I often find that shampoo's for damaged hair always work really well on the more damaged parts of my hair but leave my roots kind of greasy/shiny which anyone would agree is somewhat annoying. This shampoo however doesn't do that which is why I love this range and I think will be a solid staple in my haircare routine for a long time. I wash my hair with this every 2-3 days, applying it all over my hair and making sure it lathers up well getting right into every bit of my hair I then rinse it a few times to make sure I get all the shampoo out of my hair. Once I have rinsed I can already feel that the shampoo has worked well as my hair feels really soft even though it is wet. I then follow this with the conditioner.

Smooth & Polish Conditioner
Elvive Smooth & Polish Conditioner (1.99) - Boots
As the shampoo works so well I was excited to see if the conditioner would add to the smoothing and polishing but focusing more on the lower ends of my hair as I only ever apply conditioner to the lower ends of my hair. I'm glad to say that this conditioner does just that, it gives the lower ends of my hair which are the most damaged a really good polish and leaves my hair feeling so smooth and so nourished. Like I said I follow from the shampoo with this conditioner, applying it to the bottom lengths of my hair and leaving it on for at least 3 mins to get the conditioner working and I sometimes comb through my hair but not always as this can cause more damage. I then rinse the conditioner off and do a full rinse of all of my hair just incase I have left any shampoo or conditioner in my hair.
Once I have washed my hair I let it dry naturally after using a few leave-in products and I'm not kidding my hair has never felt so soft and so nourished before using these products. It does exactly what it says on the bottle 'hair looks perfectly polished and smooth' which is such a reassuring thing knowing that I haven't wasted my money on these products and they give my hair the lift it needs. It just shows that you don't need to spend stupid amounts of money on products that actually work as both the shampoo and conditioner are priced at just £1.99, bargain!

So that's my review, I hope you guys find this somewhat useful and maybe even try this range out for yourself.
Hope you're all well and have had a really good week!

xx
