Boots Points Purchases

January 09, 2014

With Christmas over and my Boots card loaded with a load of points after the Christmas present buying, I thought i'd treat myself to a few bits with my points as a New Year present to myself.
YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick - Boots (£24), Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation - Boots (£8.99), Real Techniques Setting Brush - Boots (£8.99)

As I had managed to accumulate almost £50 in Boots points, I didn't want to spend it on a load of random bits and bobs like I had been previously, so I thought i'd save them up and buy myself some things I wouldn't normally spend my own money on.

The first product is probably my splurge of them all and that is the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick. I picked this up in the shade '18- Prune in Fire', which is the perfect name for this deep plum shade. As soon as I swatched this on the back of my hand I knew that I had to have it, the formula is beautiful with a glossy shine to the lipstick that I can tell won't dry my lips out throughout the day and will just look beautiful.

The next product I picked up was the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation, now i've had my eye on this foundation for a while and i'd been really undecided about purchasing it, but after giving it a swatch I kind of fell in love with the consistency of the formula and I think it's one i'll really get on with.

Lastly, I decided to bite the bullet and pick up the Real Techniques Setting Brush as i've wanted this brush for such a long time and after not getting it for Christmas I couldn't wait any longer. I can't wait to start using this, it's so weird how you can get so excited over a makeup brush!

So that is everything I bought with my Boots points and i'm so glad I waited and saved up my points as these purchases feel a little bit more special.

Have you been spending your Boots points? What have you bought with them?

  1. I really can't decide what to spend my points on! I've managed to get around £40 worth but I wear minimal makeup in the day so I don't want to splash out on something that won't get used. I think perfume could be my points splurge :)

    1. See i'm exactly the same. Maybe have a little hunt on the Boots website and see if there is any skincare or bits and bobs you've had your eye on for a while. Perfume could be a really good one actually! x
