I honestly cannot believe that tomorrow is the first day of March, this year is flying by already and before I know it i'm going to be finish with uni. With it being the end of the month it's time that I talked about my favourites from this past month.

As I mentioned in my previous post, i'd picked up a few things from The Body Shop that i'd wanted to try out for some time. I never intended to purchase these but i'm really glad I did, especially as these have been the only purchases I have made for myself this month.

This past week has been a bit of a lazy one, i've almost finished my dissertation so I took a few days to just recoup and regain some energy especially as I was working the majority of the week also.

Todays post is again, a continuation of the storage detail kind of posts i've been doing recently and one thing I don't see much within the blogosphere is us bloggers talking about the fashion/beauty reads that we have, so I thought i'd share what ones have earnt their space on my bookshelf.

As you can see, i've completely devoted this shelf just for the more fashion/uni/beauty books as I find them a lot more visually appealing than my other random books and these are the ones I reach for the most, especially when it comes to any design or layout kind of work i'm doing for uni. I've tried to arrange them in height order just make them appear neater on the shelf and more visually appealing for me. 

Now onto the books themselves, i'm not going to babble on about every single book or review them as such, as some of these I haven't fully read or used as much as I should to give them a review, but i'll give you a little rundown about the ones that I use the most. 

So first off we have 9Heads, which if you are a fashion student you SHOULD own this book. It's amazing for all sorts of figure drawing and drawing of clothing on the body, with step by step guides and helpful tips, this book has come in so handy over the three years i've been at uni. Moving to more textiles with this book, but Practical Textiles Techniques is a really good book if you are studying textiles. It gives a run down on all the different textiles techniques, and I used this a lot during college. The next book that has come in pretty hand is the Making and Breaking The Grid, which is all about layout and typography through the use of various grid based design. I've found this really helpful when producing trend books where i've had to really consider the layout of the pages and all of their elements. Next up is the Essential Fashion Illustration, which is similar to 9Heads in the sense that it's all about fashion illustration and figure drawing but isn't as extensive as 9Heads, but still really useful. This book is probably the most obvious choice, but one that just looks so good on a shelf and that is Alexa Chung's IT. I haven't fully read this, more like flicked through it but I couldn't not mention it and I can't wait to give this a proper read. Again, another obvious choice with the Lauren Conrad Beauty, but this book is so good especially for those who, like me don't know that much about beauty. It covers all things from makeup to skincare and is definitely worth a read. Another Lauren Conrad book and this is actually from her series of books with L.A Candy being the first, and only one that I own. I read this a good two years back or so now, but i'm definitely going to pick it up again and maybe purchase the next few in the series. Last but not least is Luella's Guide to English Style which I was recommended during my second year, and it's a great little book covering various different aspects of English style, it's hard to explain but really worth picking up.

Yes, you read correct.. i'm finally doing another review! I've been really slacking with reviews, especially as you guys have been liking the other content i've been posting but if you saw my recent Canada/UK Box Swap with Alexandra, then you will have seen she got me this and i've literally fallen in love with these products.

Last week was a bit of a random week, as always not a lot happened as you guys know i'm really trying to focus on my dissertation at the moment, but there was a few surprises and exciting things going on through the course of the week.

Began an unintetional spending ban - As this months payday wasn't the best I told myself that I couldn't really buy many things this month but the past week or so i've actually managed to stick to this. Other than buying stationary and valentines presents I haven't actually purchased anything for myself and I don't plan to until next payday. Go me!

Reached 1,000 BlogLovin' Followers - On Tuesday I hit 1,000 followers and it has honestly made my week! I never thought just over a year into blogging i'd have so many followers and to say thank you I will be running a giveaway, when I can afford to purchase the prizes of course but in the mean time.. THANK YOU!

Got inspired and motivated - I found these really cute quote cards floating around my desk area and they really got me thinking. First of all I love quotes as they really motivate me and they've given me some more idea's for my desk area, my ever changing desk area!

Had a lovely Valentines Day - Sorry for being that person, but this year was my first Valentines with a boyfriend and we had a really nice, chilled out evening and he got me some beautiful roses that I just had to share with you guys!

What did you get up to last week?

Following on from my recent Bedside Table Details post and after so many of you really enjoyed that I thought i'd sort of continue with the little storage details around my room. So today i'm going to talk you guys through my perfume collection and show you how I store it in my room!

One thing I don't talk about all that often on here is perfume and up until recently I didn't really have a collection as such, mainly because I went through perfume like there was no tomorrow but i've since allowed me collection to grow and i've learnt to save perfume rather than use it like a body spray.

Let's start off with the storage as that part is quite easy and quick to talk through. I basically store my small perfume collection on the top of an old Glossybox lid, which sits on top of an Ikea draw system where I keep all of my nail polish. I really love the floral pattern of this lid and it somewhat ties in with my perfumes as they all have some sort of flowery/summery vibe to them, from the packaging to the scents themselves. Now, even though it looks like my perfumes are in direct sunlight, they actually aren't.. I just moved them for the purpose of the picture taking.

Now onto the perfumes themselves. I've reviewed a couple of these but this first one I have never really spoke about and that is the Marc Jacobs Daisy, which I got for Christmas. I'd wanted it for so long after always giving it a sniff in Boots and it's delicate subtle fruity floral scent always made me lust after and let's not forget the packaging.. how cute! Next up, sticking with Marc Jacobs is the Marc Jacobs Honey* which is hands down my favourite fragrance seeing as this bottle is almost empty, i'm trying to save this as I love it so much. I've done a full review of this here, so if you want to know more then make sure to read that. Last of the Marc Jacobs fragrances and this next one is the Marc Jacobs Dot*, which just adds to my love for Marc Jacobs perfumes! I love it's light yet sweet floral scent and is definitely one i'm saving for summer. This last fragrance is one i've repurchased over and over, whilst also being one that I recommend to all the girly girls out there. This perfume is the Vera Wang Lovestruck Floral Rush, which I knew i'd love after loving her Princess range. I've done a full review of this here, so head on over to that post to know a bit more.

So that is my fragrance collection and a little about how I store it in my room. I hope you guys are liking these kind of posts and I think i'll try to do a few more like this.

Yesterday whilst attempting to get two major parts of my dissertation done a lovely delivery man delivered my Birchbox, which I had completely forgotten about but it was definitely the pick me up I needed whilst drowning in the word count of this dreaded dissertation. 

This months Birchbox is obviously all about LFW, what with it beginning this Friday which is also Valentines day (great timing, ay). This months box is packed with samples focusing on our own style and some of these samples are right up my street! It's also nice to see that Birchbox didn't decided to continue with the tissue paper packaging that we saw with last months box, it just looked cheap and tacky to me. Anyway let's get cracking with what I got in this months box.

First up is this beautiful Leighton Denny Nail Colour, which is in this sparkly black and white glitter shade. I've wanted a nail varnish like this for a while but they've always been sold out whenever i've gone to pick one up, so i'm super happy to have this and I can see myself rocking this quite a lot as a simple way to spruce up a boring nail. Next up is the Urbanveda Exfoliating Facial Polish, which is a brand i've never heard of but I am really getting into my skincare so this is happily welcomed and I can't wait to see what it does for my skin. Another product i'm quite excited to try and that is the Beauty Protector Protect & Oil, which is for your hair. Now hair oil is something that I don't often use but is something that I want to get more into as it does work well for my hair, especially the lower ends of my hair as they are pretty damaged, so i'm intrigued to see what this will do. This next product is the only one that i'm not overly wowed by and that is the Gilchrist & Soames - The London Collection Shower Gel as it is just a shower gel but having said that it does smell amazing and would be good if I need a travel size shower gel. So saving the best for last and I literally squeeled when I saw this and it is the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner. I've seen so many bloggers say what a great eyeliner this is and I actually used this yesterday and i'm honestly blown away. It is amazinggggg!

So that is this months Birchbox and I can't wait to see what next month Lulu Guinness partnered box will bring!

After ordering these makeup brushes after reading Maddy's blog post here, I waited eagerly for their arrival which did take a while but they were completely worth the wait especially as these four makeup brushes cost less than £5!

Again, this week has been hectic as i've been cracking on with uni work whilst also putting in over 20 hours at work over two days. This weekend was definitely a chilled out one, as I didn't do an awful lot except watch films.

For a while now i've wanted to do a post somewhat related to my room and the area's of storage that I have. I've seen a few bloggers talk about their bedside tables, showing what they store on them and in them, which I really enjoy reading so I thought i'd jump on the bandwagon and show you guys what my bed side storage looks like.

For my bedside table I have the Ikea Hemnes Bedside Table, which I chose as it only has one drawer meaning that it wouldn't just become full of junk and it also has a little shelf in between the legs which is super handy and works well to store my makeup bags.

As you can see I keep the surface area quite minimal and tidy as I hate having random clutter taking up space. Just like any bedside table I have a Lamp, which isn't actually pictured but it just your bog standard lamp with a pink shade on it, which does the trick for you know giving me some light. I also have a little Cup Mat, or whatever those things are called, but I love the cute floral print as it ties in well with my room aesthetic. At night time, I always just chuck my iPhone on my bedside table whilst it is charging, but I thought i'd put it for the sake of the picture ha! As for beauty bits I don't have an awful amount of things as they'd just take up space and look messy. At the minute I have my trusty Bioderma, as it is too fat to fit in the drawer and I use it most nights to remove my makeup before cleansing. The nail polish i'm wearing at the moment is Topshop Celestial, so I like to have whatever shade i'm wearing out for quick touch ups. As I suffer with dry lips I always have a lipbalm handy and at the minute i'm loving the Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia, so that is just chilling on my bedside table as ease of use. 

As for the drawer, I use this to store all of my skincare bits that aren't cleansers or masks as they are stored in my bathroom (even though you're not supposed to store them in your bathroom, but I still do). I've made use of an old Birchbox to house the majority of my skincare bits including my trusty Origins Ginzing Moisturiser, which is honestly my favourite moisturiser, Hydraluron, which is a no brainer really and the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, which I love to use during the summer. I also have a few samples and random things like spot cream and eye creams in there which I use every now and then. Next to that I have the bigger bottled items, such as my Pixi Glow Tonic and the L'oreal Eye Makeup Remover which is underneath the La Roche Posay Hydreane Legere, fabulous products! The only thing that is annoying about the drawer is that it only opens halfway, meaning some products can get lost at the back but other than that I really like it and makes a really good way to store my skincare bits.

So, that is my bedside table! I hope it gives you guys a few ideas on what to do with your bedside storage and I hope i've managed to give you a few skincare recommendations whilst I was at it.

My most influential bloggers, or my favourites have to be Lily Pebbles, Lily Melrose, Kate, Anna and Sammi. I love their blogs and youtubes, and their reviews are always spot on for me. Somehow they always review products that I end up lusting after. As for swatches, there isn't a particular blog as such that I will always go to, I just generally have a look around and see who has reviewed the products in question.

A bit of both. One review will spark the initial lusting of a product but i'll then go and research a little more into the product in order to fully decide whether I need it.

This is so hard to answer as there are so many items, but as for miracle products i'd have to go with the Nuxe Reve De Meil Lip Balm. I saw so many bloggers raving that this was the product that would sort out dry lips and i'm glad that it has lived up to that otherwise i'd be crying over it's flipping expensive price tag!

Without a doubt the Rimmel Apocalips. I know a lot of people love these, and initially I enjoyed using them but they are so so messy and I just found their highly pigmented wet look just did not suit me.

So many, too many to recall but my most recent has probably got to be the Nars One Night Stand Palette, as I initially wasn't going to purchase it and when loads of reviews started cropping up, I just knew I had to have it and I luckily managed to get one of the last ones!

I'm trying to think of a hype that I haven't given into, up until literally last week I hadn't given into the Revlon Lip Butter hype but I guess that doesn't count anymore. So probably, the cream blusher hype.. I don't own any and I don't know if I ever will. I just don't like the thought of them for some reason.

Again, a bit of both. A lot of things I purchase are based on reviews, but there are a few products that I pick up without reading reviews mainly drugstore items as they are a lot more affordable and I won't be too disappointed if they turn out to be rubbish.

The start of this week had been a bit boring just cracking on with uni work, but this weekend just gone I ventured to Cardiff for a fun filled weekend, which is why this post is a day late but I was just so drained when I got home yesterday that I just didn't want to open up my laptop.

Knuckled down on uni work - As I haven't been working the past few weeks it has really allowed me to get my bum in gear and this week i've really progressed with my uni work. My dissertation is coming along and i've started putting my FMP stuff together. Still got lots to do though.

I can't believe it's been just over three months since my last empties post, and this will be the first one since moving house. It's safe to say I have accumulated a lot of empties over that time, seeing as i'd either used up or thrown out the products that only had a little amount in when packing to move house.

As you can see i've kind of split this into categories, just make it easier for you guys to read rather than it being one big jumble of different products. I'm going to wizz through these as quickly as possible, as there it quite a few products.

First up is skincare and the first product is the L'oreal Micellar Solution, which didn't take that long to use up actually, even though it's in a rather big bottle I found myself using a lot of product in one application. That being the only downside, I really like this as a cheaper option to Bioderma as it does the job and is easier to get hold of over here. Next up is the Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturiser and truth be told this is product i've had for years, and one that I never used as an actual moisturiser. Before you get any funny thoughts, I opted for this whenever dying my hair (hence the grubby marks all over the bottle) as moisturiser helps to  stops hair dye from dying your skin and i've finally got through this bottle. Lastly within the skincare products is the Tesco Cucumber Toner, another product i've had for quite some time but I loved this as it's a very gentle toner and works well on younger skin, although I don't use this anymore i'd still recommend it especially if you're looking for a cheap toner.

Moving onto hair products and first up is the Toni & Guy Damaged Hair Shampoo & Conditioner, which I purchased in a blog sale early last year. With these being the first Toni & Guy products i'd ever owned, i've been quite impressed. They definitely help to make the hair feel more nourished but I did find the shampoo to make my roots greasy after just one day, so i'm kind of glad I finished up the shampoo but the conditioner is one i'd for sure repurchase. Next up is the Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo, i've actually used up two of these and I don't think there has been an empties post without one of these in there somewhere. It's safe to say I depend on dry shampoos and this one is my favourite at it smells really nice. This next product is one that I think I will never be without and that is the Dove Leave-in-Conditioning Oil Care, which is a spray conditioner and oil in one. I love this as it really helps to condition my dry and brittle ends, whilst softening the hair. Last of the hair products now and this product is one that was a bit of an odd one for, the product in question is the Phillip Kingsley One More Day Dry Shampoo. This product worked really well, but left the most horrible white cast over my hair that was really difficult to remove that I actually ended up washing my hair, defeated the whole purpose of the product really.

These last bunch of products are mainly body, with a random makeup product thrown in for good measure. Starting off with the Sure Crystal Clear Anti Perspirant, i've actually used up three bottles of this stuff and it's safe to say it's my go to deodorant. It just works really well and doesn't transfer onto my clothes. Another deodorant and that is the Nivea Pearl & Beauty which I honestly didn't like at all, it transferred onto my clothes and just didn't impress me to be honest. This next product is one i've spoke about recently and that is the Ginger & Co Double Up Body Wash*. I actually really enjoyed using this body wash, the scent lingered all day and left my skin feeling clean and soft, I may have to repurchase this! Lastly i've finally finished a mascara, and that is the Collection Multiplier Mascara, which i've named as my favourite mascara too often to count. It adds length, curl and is really cheap also.

So that is all the products i've used up recently!
