Let's start off with foundation, and my favourite high street foundation has to be the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. I love the medium coverage of this foundation, it's not too dewy but it's not matte which is the perfect in between for me and not to mention it's priced just under £10. I also find the shade range of these really good, and my shade 'Shell' is the perfect match for me, the only annoying thing is that it doesn't have a pump. Keeping with base products, my concealer of choice is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. I love this as it works to make the area under my eyes look a little more awake, and it works really well to cover up any blemishes without caking or showing any dry skin. I couldn't not include the Real Techniques Blush Brush, and luckily enough this one is priced under £10. I use this for all sorts of powder based products, including a setting powder, bronzer and blush, it's a great all rounder for any type of powder product and we all know Real Techniques brushes are just fabulous. 

Moving away from base products, the Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner is one I always end up coming back to, especially when my felt tip liners just aren't working. It's a great liquid eyeliner, very pigmented and doesn't transfer onto the eyelid throughout the day, the only thing I don't like is that it is not as matte as I would sometimes like, but it is great for around £4. The Revlon Lip Butters are a no brainer for me, I always have one lurking in my bag somewhere. They're great for applying a sweep of colour when i'm on the go and they have so many different shades available. When it comes to nails there is nowhere better to go than with the Topshop Nail Polish's. I own quite a few of these now and they are the best ones out there by far, some of the formulas can be a little hit and miss but they wide variety of colours on offer are to die for. I'm really eyeing up their most recent pastel additions and i'm trying to not cave by purchasing all of them! 

When picking the products for this post, it occurred to me that I don't own any high street eye shadow palettes not too sure why to be honest but the L'oreal Color Infaillible Eye Shadows are great for when it comes to pressed pigments. They're great for when you want a quick sweep of colour that can be blended for a more subtle look, or added into the crease for a little more of a dramatic look. The Rimmel Soft Kohl Eyeliner was another no brainer for me as i've owned about four of these now. It's just a great black eyeliner that lasts really well on the waterline and also works for when you can't be bothered with a liquid eyeliner. 

These last two products, are ones that I think will always be my all time favourite products. Starting off with a lip crayon, the one i've picked out is the Revlon Color Burst Matte Lip Crayon. I love any type of lip crayon, but at the moment i'm loving these new ones from Revlon. They're so handy to apply a little colour to the lip without being too bold and in your face. Lastly is my favourite mascara of all time and that is the Collection Multiplier Mascara. I discovered this after the discounted the skyscraper mascara (boohoo) and I haven't looked back since. It works so well to add a nice amount of curl and lift to the lashes without them going all clumpy and horrible.

 Tried to eat a little healthier - After pigging out a bit over the Easter weekend, I decided to try and watch what i'm eating a little more. So this past week i've just been trying not to each as much junk, and I actually feel a little better for it.
Went bowling - I haven't been bowling for years, but on Wednesday myself and my friends decided to go as a way to catch up, whilst also having a bit of a laugh. I lost but I still had a good time! 

Solidly worked on uni work - I finish uni in less than a month now, and pretty much everyday this week I have been sat at my desk trooping on and forcing myself to get this work done. I just can't wait to finish!
 Spent the weekend in Bristol - As it was my boyfriends birthday last week, we went to Bristol for a night out in order to further the celebrations. We had a mooch around the town and devoured a Frankie & Benny's in the day and then checked out Bristols night life. I definitely recommend!
Went a bit mad with 20% student discount - If you're a student like me, then you'll know a lot of places have been offering 20% discount and it's safe to say i've definitely taken advantage. I picked up some bits from Topshop and i'm also waiting for a few more orders.

What have you been up to this week?

 Recently i've been really enjoying the boxy cropped t-shirt style, and it seems to be all i'm purchasing at the moment. I love them as I can wear them in so many ways, and they are just long enough to meet my jeans hiding my podge. 

The first top I picked up is this Topshop Palm Jacquard Tee, which i've being eyeing up for so long online and when I saw it in store I just had to have. They only had a size 6 left, but it fits like it would be a 10 so i'm guessing it's quite oversized but I love it! Next is this Primark Tee, which I wasn't sure about to start with but when I tried it on I knew I had to have it. It love the cute girly pattern to it and I think it's perfect for these warmer spring days we're having. Going back to Topshop, I picked up this Topshop Stripe Pocket Cropped Tee and i've been looking for a top like this for a long time, so I obviously bought it as soon as I saw it! Next is this SoulCal Geometric Daisy Tee, which I wouldn't have picked up if I hadn't popped into my local Republic on a random. I just love the print, as i'm not a huge colour person this print is perfect for me to add a little something to my usual boring monochrome outfits. Last of the t-shirts, I found this Primark Stripe Tee hiding at the back of a load of t-shirts and I just fell in love with it. It's got a really structured fit to it and the quality is actually really good for Primark!

This next purchase is probably my favourite out of all the things i've purchased recently, as these are the Topshop Lilli Platform Sandals *heart eye emoji*. I just love everything about them, and I always love Topshop heels out of all the others out there as they last so well and are the best quality you can find. I wore these out the other night and a part from a little rubbing, I lasted really well in them.

Now onto the beauty bits i've picked up recently. Starting off with the Lee Stafford Blinding Brunette Shampoo & Conditioner. I've wanted to give these a try for such a long time as i've heard they are great for in between dyings as my hair can look a little dull, so i'm excited to see what these can do. I also spotted the new Soap & Glory Orangeasm Body Wash and I just had to pick it up. I love the fresh citrus scent to it and I can see myself loving this as a morning body wash in order to wake me up. I also popped into The Body Shop and noticed they had a 'buy one get one half price' on all the skincare so I picked up the Vitamin E Sink-in Moisture Mask and the Vitamin E Moisture Serum as i've wanted to pick them up for a while and with that offer I couldn't not. Lastly I picked up a few of the Revlon Color Burst Balms, two matte's and one lacquer. I'll be reviewing these soon so look out for that!

What have you been purchasing recently?

Celebrated my best friends 21st - On Tuesday evening, I headed into Birmingham for a belated birthday meal for one of my best friends 21st. We went to Bodega and oh my god, the food was amazing! I stuck to non alcoholic cocktails (as I was driving) and struggled to devour my burrito, but I had a lovely evening.

Celebrated my boyfriends birthday - Also on Tuesday it was my boyfriend's birthday. We celebrated on both Monday night with a cheeky night out and then a meal/drinks on Saturday. We had a really good time, the hangovers however weren't so good! 

Received some cute Easter gifts - I wasn't expecting to get any easter eggs as I am now 20, but my Mum got me this cute bunny which she actually brought back from Australia. Such a cutie and it tastes soo good!
Had a chilled out Saturday - During the day on Saturday I decided to light up my new Primark candle (which smells amazing) and crack on with some uni work whilst watching back to back KUWTK. I also reorganised my bedside table a little, making use of the candle lid to store all my beauty bits.

What have you been up to this week?

The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush is described as a long wearing and supremely soft blush infused with Amazonian Clay, which minimises oil in order to balance out the skin and keep this blush in place. It is also said to universally benefit all skin types for a fade free and flawless finish.

Again, I love this blush just as much as my first which I got in the summer last year and i'm so glad I was able to get another prior to their release over here. The shade I picked is called 'Buff', as I almost chose this as my first Tarte blush but ended up not getting it. The shade of this is really difficult to describe, as it has hints of peach running through but it also looks like it could be a light bronzer, kind of similar to the Nars 'Luster' Blush. It has light shimmer running through it, which looks really pretty on the cheeks and gives my complexion that little bit of glow without being too noticeable. Just like my other Tarte blush, I don't find it lasts the 12 hours it says but it definitely does stay put and doesn't slide off my face after an hour, like a lot of my other blushes do. 

All in all I love these blushers and I can't wait to add more to my collection! I think they are currently sold out on QVC, but hopefully they'll come back into stock soon!

This months box is titled Good Enough To Eat, with the massive hype around the benefits food product can give beauty wise at the moment Birchbox have also jumped on this. Taking inspiration from local food markets, the kitchen and our favourite food this months box is jammed packed with what is described as 'delicious scents and foodie elements'. I really like the idea behind this months box, it feels like a sold theme and the products also work really well to reflect this. 

First up we have the Campos de Ibiza Almendra Body Milk, this instantly takes me back to Ibiza a few years ago. This product is described as 'spring in a tube' and it definitely smells like it also with it's almondy scent. I can wait to give this a try, as i'm not usually one for body milks but I think i'll really get on with this. Next is the Lord & Berry Couture Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil, i've seen a lot about Lord & Berry in the beauty box world and I was eager to see what they are all about. I love myself a good eyeliner, especially a kohl eyeliner so i'm excited to see if this lives up to my trusty Rimmel one. Now onto nails and a Birchbox exclusive, it's the Color Club Gala's Gems Nail Polish. I love Color Club nail varnishes and this spring blue shade is perfect, especially as I don't own a shade like this one.

This next product I thought was a chocolate bar or something, but it is actually TheBalm Cosmetics How 'Bout Them Apples? Cheek & Lip Cream. First off, the packaging.. how frigging cute is it? Secondly, i've never tried a cream blusher so maybe this is the product to convert me? We shall see. This next product i'm quite intrigued by and that is the Yes To Cucumbers Facial Wipes. Now I love a good face wipe here and there especially when i'm having a lazy day, and as these are said to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise with it's soothing organic cucumber i'm keen to see what these are like. Sticking with the theme of this months box, Birchbox also threw in this little extra the Propercorn Sweet Coconut & Vanilla. I tried my first Propercorn bag the other week, the sweet and salty one and loved it, so I can't wait to try out this flavour! 

I'm also really loving the new in-box cards, I really like that they all fold together and contain some pretty cool tips on this months product!

The La Roche Posay Rosaliac Daily Unifying CC Creme* is formulated for those who suffer with sensitive skin that can be prone to all types of redness. This product is designed to both soothe any redness, whilst also offering immediate coverage and long lasting correction. 

Let's start off with the packaging as i'm a sucker for packaging, especially packaging that is simple and minimal (probably another reason why I love La Roche Posay). I really like that this is designed to be stood upside down, meaning you're not having to squeeze any product out or having to faff around when you're in a hurry, it's simple and I like it.

When I first used this I wasn't too sure exactly how a CC creme worked as i'd never owned or used one before, but I figured that it would be a little more lighter than a BB creme, which I wear usually on a daily basis. On first application I thought this was a little too dark/orange for me as it does only come in one shade, which is meant to adapt to your skin tone and I think it does to some extent but as i'm quite pale products often come up a little too dark on me anyway.  

Surprisingly the coverage of this is actually really good, so good that i've been wearing this on it's own on some days where I just need a little bit of coverage in order for me to look human enough to leave the house. It covers spots really well, although I do still use concealer underneath and i've noticed that any redness around blemishes is pretty much masked to the point that you can't really see them. As for long time correction, I can't really comment as I haven't been using it long enough but I will definitely be using this well into the summer months, especially as it contains SPF 30 and the coverage is just enough for those hot summer days that i'm dreaming of.

Have you tried out any CC cremes?

Made some cheeky payday purchases - Even though my pay wasn't so great again this month, I decided to treat myself to a few bits that i'd been eyeing up for a little while. All I can say is thank god for student loans coming in just over a week!

Reorganised my makeup storage - I decided to neaten the top of my makeup storage drawer system by removing all the random junk that had accumulated and now I just have my brushes and palettes in clear sight. I can't wait until I change to Muji storage, but i'm happy with how it is for now. I also can't wait for a trip to Ikea, there is so much stuff I want at the moment for my room.


What did you get up to last week?

Even though my wages have been shocking these past couple of months, i've actually been really good with my money and I thought i'd treat myself with the little bit I had left from last month.

The first lipstick I picked up is the the Illamasqua 'Glissade' Lipstick from their new Glamore Collection, which I spoke about briefly in my recent favourites post. When I first saw blog posts circulating about their new collection I just knew that I had to get my hands on this lipstick, then to my delight I saw they stocked it on ASOS which means one thing, student discount! I love the shade of this lipstick, it's bold pink with a somewhat berry undertone is just perfect for me and I will definitely be getting my wear out of it this summer, and it's formula is perfect not too matte but not too creamy.

Next are two MAC purchases, which i've gotta thank my Mum for seeing as she picked these up for me on her recent trip to Australia. I'd been eyeing up these two shades in particular for some time but I wasn't gonna just give up £30 when I knew she could get them slightly cheaper. Anyway, the first shade I got was MAC Plumful, which is in a lustre finish. Now i'm entirely 100% sure what that finish is, but I know that they are more of a moisturising finish and slightly less pigmented but still build able. This shade in particular I wanted as it's the perfect day time shade and just gives my lips the lift that they need without too bold of a colour, whilst also lasting really well.

The second lipstick I got was MAC Lustering, again another lustre finish and this shade is one that I haven't seen an awful lot about but after doing some research I decided that I needed this one also. It's slightly more of a brighter pinky shade than Plumful but again is one that is perfect for the day time as it adds a nice amount of colour without being too overpowering.
