The Nightingale Worcester
December 08, 2017
Being a lover of all things local, i've wanted to incorporate more local places to where I live for such a long time and i've recently had some lovely local opportunities pop up. If you follow my Instagram, you'll of seen on my story a couple of weeks back that I headed down to my local Vintage Inn's pub and I thought i'd share my thoughts on the evening.
The Nightingale is a pub I drive past on a daily basis to and from work and is local to the Spetchley area of Worcester (if you're familiar to the area), and recently I'd noticed they were having some refurb work done so I was excited to see what they'd done to update the premises. On entering we were greeted with a cute nook area tucked away by the bar and a cosy wood burning fire, which just warmed up the room and set a lovely countryside atmosphere.
Fran and I were then escorted to our table and presented with a few menu options, including their brand new Christmas menu where you can enjoy two courses for £18.95, or three courses for £21.95 which is available at most Vintage Inns from now until the 30th of Dec (excluding Christmas Day). We both chose to enjoy three courses from their normal fixed price menu, all whilst washing it down with a much needed glass of wine.
STARTER
For starter, I chose to have the Chargrilled Lamb Kofta's which was served with tzatziki and a slaw style salad of which was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. Fran then chose to have the Oven Baked Button & Portobello Mushrooms of which looked absolutely delicious and Fran said they deserved a 10/10 rating, they were that tasty!
MAIN COURSE
For main we both chose to have a red meat dish, with Fran opting for the 8oz Sirloin Steak with a Peppercorn Sauce and again, Fran said it was one of the best sirloin steaks she's had in a long while. I opted for the Aberdeen Angus Burger as I love a good burger and this one did not disappoint. For a pub burger it was really tasty, and the chips were absolutely delicious but I wasn't a massive fan of the bacon chutney but i've never been a chutney kinda gal!
DESSERT
By the time dessert came round we were both absolutely stuffed, but we wanted to try out as much of the menu as we could and as we couldn't choose what puddings to have we opted for the Hot Drink & Mini Pudding option so we could share the pudding without absolutely pigging out. We chose to have a Hot Chocolate and to try the Bourbon Pecan Pie and the Belgian Chocolate Brownie of which were both delicious and were just enough to finish off a lovely dinner!
All in all we both had a lovely evening as it was lovely to end the week with a nice pub meal, and a large glass of wine. The staff and the service at The Nightingale was so lovely, and just what you'd expect from a local country pub which is really refreshing.
If you're local to the Worcester area and you're looking to visit a cute local pub then i'd highly recommend checking out The Nightingale as they have so many menu options from steak evenings and pie evenings, to the perfect Sunday roast!
Have you visited any Vintage Inn pubs recently?
*I was kindly gifted £50 towards my bill by Vintage Inn's but all opinions are my own.
