Smashbox Try It Kit Review

February 18, 2014

Yes, you read correct.. i'm finally doing another review! I've been really slacking with reviews, especially as you guys have been liking the other content i've been posting but if you saw my recent Canada/UK Box Swap with Alexandra, then you will have seen she got me this and i've literally fallen in love with these products.
Smashbox Try It Kit - Boots (£19)

The Smashbox Try It Kit, is basically a set containing their five best selling products in sample version in order to give us beauty lovers the chance to try out these products without having to splurge on the full size products. When I saw this in my box from Alexandra, I literally did a little happy dance so thank you girl!

I've heard great things about Smashbox, especially about their primers as they do a fair few all for different area's of the face, so I was super excited to see that his set contained a couple of their primers, as i'm really getting into primers at the moment.

So the first product, that immediately caught my eye was the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer and oh my god I love this stuff! It's silky lightweight formula works really well to blur out the skin and hide any imperfections whilst creating a lovely smooth base, which holds my foundation in place all day. I've been using this since the day I got this and it is without a doubt the best primer I have ever used. Next up, sticking with primers is the Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer, and before this primer I had never used one on my lids. This one I've used this a fair few times now, and it works so well to smooth out the lids and I find that it really helps to keep my eyeshadow in place, no creasing or anything. The next product is probably my second favourite, after the foundation primer and this is the Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara. Now in the beginning I was really put off by it's humungous brush, but it is amazing as giving my lashes the length and curl they deserve. I'm definitely purchasing the full size when this runs out! This next product is probably my least favourite, mainly because i'm not a lipgloss kinda gal. The Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss in the shade 'Illume', is an odd one for me. It looks like the perfect nude, but when applied it just feels really gritty on the lips and doesn't really give any colour pay off, so I don't think i'll be using this all that much. Last but certainly not least, is probably my third favourite product from this set and that is the Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner in the shade 'Onyx'. This has currently replaced my trusty Rimmel Kohl Eyeliner, it's pigmentation and lasting power is just amazing and I can see this eyeliner lasting me really well!

So that is the Smashobox Try It Kit and my thoughts on the products within it. I honestly think it's an amazing set, especially as it costs less than the full price of some of the products within it and it allows you to give them a try. I can see these samples lasting me a really good amount of time also.

Have you tried any of these products from Smashbox?
