Tarte Blush Palette

January 06, 2015

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll probably have seen that the lovely Alexandra sent me a little present for my birthday, graduation and Christmas all rolled into one and I thought it was about time I shared a little light on this amazing gift.
I've been a huge fan of the Tarte blushers ever since I got my hands on my first one, so when I unwrapped this, the Tarte Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Palette I was instantly so excited to try it out!

This palette is by far one of the prettiest palettes that i've ever seen and the packaging is so different to any other palette out there, I love how luxurious it feels and how it looks just like a purse, rather than a blush palette. The casing itself is quite sturdy and has a really big mirror inside, which is one thing I look for in a palette, so its always handy when on the go. This palette contains five blushes, which are all exclusive to the palette and each blush is so different to any blush that I have previously owned.

The five shades within this palette are all shades that i'd use and i've found that they all suit my skin tone really well. Starting from the left, we have 'Breathless' which is matte beige pink shade that i've been using as a light contour and I just love how this looks on my pale complexion. Next is, 'Embraced' that is a lovely shimmery plum shade that adds a lovely flush to the cheeks and also a really subtle highlight. The middle shade, 'Whimsy' is my favourite from the palette, as matte baby pink shades suit my skin tone really well. Next is 'Bashful', another shimmer shade and this is a lovely peachy pink, which I love using in the summer. Finally we have 'Irreplaceable' a matte rosy pink, which again suits my skin tone really well.

All of these blushes have great pigmentation and I find a little goes a long way with these. As I mentioned, i'm really enjoying using 'Breathless' as a subtle contour and this can also be built up quite well and i've loved using both 'Whimsy' and 'Embraced' to add some colour back into my cheeks. As always, 12 hours is quite a bold claim as I personally do not wear makeup that long and no ones makeup lasts that long but they do last very well throughout the day, but I think it always depends on the base.

Overall I absoluelty love this palette and I am so thankful to Alexandra for sending me this, she is so sweet and always reminds me of how lucky I am to have made friends through this little space on the internet!

Have you tried any of the Tarte blushers?

The purple shade looks a little too daunting for me! I don't know what it is but I get a bit afraid to change up my blushes, I tend to find one and stick to it!
