The past couple of weeks have been so hectic with starting my new job, which I told you guys all about in my most recent Sunday Summary but I thought i'd do a little update, as i'm loving it so far and so many of you have asked me questions about it.

These flowers arrived on my doorstep last Saturday from my Dad and Step Mum, amongst a load of cards from family, all congratulating me on getting the job. The support i've had has been a little overwhelming but I couldn't of asked for anything else, as i'm literally smiling from ear to ear.

I started my new job just under two weeks ago and i've started at the busiest time possible, but I always work better under pressure I feel and so far i'm settling in really well. All of my colleges are lovely and have all been so welcoming that it has definitely taken a lot of pressure off of me. I've already sent off my first design to me sampled up and hopefully that will going into the next A/W season, which is so exciting!

As I mentioned in my previous post, the fashion brand in which I work for (which I will tell you all about at some point) is launching in the UK next week! - so you can imagine how busy and stressful it has been. It has meant a lot of very early mornings and long nights, which has been challenging as I miss my lie ins already but it's been a good learning experience for me and it's all part and parcel of this industry.

I don't really know what else to say, other than I am so much happier already and I can't wait to get stuck in even more and to see how this brand grows over the next year! Through all of the chaos I hadn't even celebrated getting the job properly, but on Friday my family, boyfriend and myself finally got to celebrate with the tastiest Italian food ever! The food was so good and tasty that i'd already devoured it before thinking about taking any picture #bloggerproblems!

Also I hope you've been enjoying the blog posts that i've been putting out, i'm having to schedule myself a lot more and although i'm feeling a little disconnected, i'm sure i'll get into a routine that works for not only myself but you lovely readers also!

I mentioned briefly in a recent Sunday Summary post that a job opportunity had come up and I was really excited to see where this could lead me. After leaving uni, I didn't really know what I wanted to do in terms of career and with that came a lot of unhappiness because I wasn't doing what I enjoyed as I love being creative, so when this job opportunity came up, I literally jumped at it!

So after a nerve racking telephone interview, I was invited into the offices for an interview where I also had to present my portfolio and also a mini project they had set me. For this mini project, I was to create two trends and then design a capsule collection from the one, which could not have gone better and in fact the interview was so relaxed that it really allowed me to express how much I wanted the job!

Now I was expecting to not hear anything for a couple of days, but to my surprise I had a phone call the following day to say that they were offering me the job and I was so happy that I almost cried, but I managed to keep it together. My new job role is a design assistant for a overseas fashion brand, that will be launching in the UK next month and I am so excited! I start next Wednesday, so it's a very quick change for me but one that I am welcoming with open arms and thankfully I don't have to move or relocate.

Now you're all probably wondering what this means in terms of my blog, and if i'm honest, nothing. My blog is staying and it will still be updated as regularly as it is now (maybe not everyday but I will still aim for at least 4-5 posts a week), as this little blog played a big part in me getting the job.

I want to say a huge thank you to all of you who wished me luck with my interview, as it definitely paid off and it means so much that you are all really supportive.

I'm not going to go into detail as to why i've had a bad week, some things need be kept off of the internet but reflecting on last week, it's safe to say that everyone has bad habits and some people can get very stuck in their ways - whether it be a relationship or their work commitments, or just their general attitude and i'm sure we have all been guilty of one of these.

For me it's my work commitment, and after leaving uni I thought i'd of found a job by now but i'm still at my part time job of five years and i've reached the point of where it's time for a change. As some of you know i'm currently interning at etailPR and I am loving every second of it and it's nice to get away from the normal and do something different for a couple of days of the week. Having said that, it's not something I see myself sticking with long term (more than a year or so), as it is unpaid and it's really just to get a feel of where I want to venture onto - but for now i'm loving the experience and it's definitely opened my eyes up to the other side of blogging, so i'm learning a lot. 

As for moving on from my part time job, it's definitely a long process as I don't really know where I want to go in life. My degree didn't really give me an end goal and i'm still very undecided as to what I want to do in life, but I have been applying for several jobs in the hope that something comes along, where I can actually put my degree to some use and enjoy what I do. Don't get me wrong, I love the people that I work with and the pay isn't so bad - but sometimes you just need to move on from something.

Looking forward to next week, i'm going to make it the best week ever! Any crap that comes my way I am going to ignore and not let it affect me, as I tend to let any little thing bother me - which isn't worth my time or patience anymore, and is generally not creating any happiness for myself and i've also noticed that my relationships also suffer.

So i'm saying goodbye to last week, and fully welcoming the new week with open arms!

I wrote this post whilst admiring these pretty roses Mum had bought herself this morning, whilst also chowing down on a seriously delicious breakfast that I made myself - crumpets are the best things ever, am I right?! 

I skipped the gym today as i'm just not in the right mind frame, but i've really been pushing myself to go this week and so far i'm really enjoying it. Oh, and I did make the move by switching to a different gym and so far i'm enjoying it a lot more, as you get a lot more freedom without the intimidation of the weights area and it's a lot more affordable that the gym I was previously at, which my bank balance is liking, a lot!

I mentioned in my Year in Review post that I had bagged myself a little internship at etailPR, which I started at on Tuesday this week and I had the best day in a long time. Everyone within the office made me feel so welcome and to be helping them on their Blogger Network is such a great opportunity and one that i'm really enjoying so far. I'm only doing one day a week at the minute, but i'm already learning a lot and I can't wait to see what this may lead to in the future.

Now onto the blog, and you may have seen that I have made the move over to my own domain! It was stressful, i'm not going to lie as I thought i'd completely lost my blog at one point, but luckily it sorted itself out and styleandsplurging.com is here to stay! I've still got a few things to sort out, as the majority of my comments have gone and a few things aren't working, but bear with. Also i'm in talks with the lovely Charlee from CharmedCharlee about a new blog design, which she has been so helpful with and I can't wait for it to go live. It'll probably be up beginning of February, but I thought i'd let you guys know that it's in the pipeline and I can't wait for you all to see it.

I think that is everything that I need to update you guys on and i'm going to spend today attempting to get some posts scheduled, but I do have a few days off next week also where I can work on posts.

With the new year rolling in, i've been thinking a lot about my blog and what I want to do with this little online space that I have. I've been thinking of making a few changes here and there, as I want to make my blog a little more personal in some aspects and to allow more interaction with you guys.

For the past year, every Sunday (minus a few) i'd always put up a 'This Week I' post, in order to show you guys what i've been up to this week and for a chance to talk to you guys a little, but i've felt that those posts really aren't bringing anything to my blog. They are my least viewed posts and I don't see much interaction from them and I want to be able to share more with you guys, in a more chatty way. As you can see the title of this post is called Sunday Summary and is my way of changing my Sunday posts - I may not do one every Sunday, but it will be my way to share more and to chat with you guys.

As for other changes on the blog, I really want to change up my layout and i've already got my eye on a few different blog designers, especially Pipdig as their services seem so easy and they have so many designs. I'm also going to up my interaction with you guys, through replying to comments as I do read every single one, I just don't often get the time to respond a lot of the time. I'm also really thinking of getting my own url and domain but I haven't got the faintest of ideas of where to start - if any of you have any tips, they would be much appreciated. 

Continuing on with the changes, I really want to step up my fitness this year and really sort myself out. I haven't really made any resolutions this year, but this is one thing I really want to do. If you follow me on Instagram, then you may have seen me post about using my Breville Blend Active (£20) for the first time - and so far i'm loving the smoothies that i've been whipping up with it. It's a great way for me to get a good intake of fruit and they fill me up really well. I'm also getting my bum back in the gym, but i'm thinking of switching gyms as i'm not that happy with the one i'm at, at the minute - but I will keep you guys updated on that one. 

Onto what i've been up to and this week has been a lovely little week of celebrating as I brought in the new year with some of my best friends and it was lovely to spend some time with them, as we really don't see each other that often due to university or work. I also celebrated my one year anniversary with my Boyfriend and I honestly couldn't be happier. We kept it quite simple and went out for a curry as a chilled out way of celebrating, which was lovely and I can't wait to see what this year brings for us.
