Post Christmas Skincare Saviours
January 12, 2016
With the temperature dropping as much as it has over the past few days and after having a pretty hectic social life during the Christmas break my skin has decided to do a complete 180 on me. I thought i'd delve into my skincare stash and pull out some products that I always turn to when my skin is acting up, whilst also sharing these with you guys if you're skin is in need of some tlc.
If you're a long time reader you'll know that my skin is quite dry and it fluctuates throughout the year depending on the weather. As winter seems to be setting in and the colder temperatures are on their way my skin has become quite dry and with having a pretty bad cold thrown into the mix I knew my skin needed a little extra attention.
Starting off with my favourite face masks and both of these I turn to when my skin is in need of extra moisture. For a quick and easy mask I always turn to the Origins Drink Up 10-Minute Mask (£23) as it's a great mask that gets to work in just 10 minutes and just sets my skin for the day. I love the scent of this mask and it is also really gentle on the skin, which is a bonus if you have sensitive skin like me. Another mask that I love to use especially if i've had a heavy night, which I did have a few over the Christmas break is the Rodial Super Acids X-trme Hangover Mask (£45) as it does what it says on the tin. It really helps to rescue tired and dehydrated skin. I usually use this on a Sunday (prime hangover day) whilst giving myself a good pamper and leaving this on for a good 30 minutes just works wonders for my skin by giving it a healthy glow.
Another product that is like no other that i've used or owned before is the Time Bomb Complexion Cocktail* (£24), which is similar to a cocktail in the sense it gives you a little boost, this gives your skin a little boost. This contains a shot of chlorophyll, which is great for the skin as it protects the skin from toxins whilst also giving your skin a plump and healthy glow. Anther product that isn't like any other product i've owned is the Acne Ultra Clear* (£15.99), which a acne treatment that doesn't dry your skin out and actually helps to keep the affected skin moisturised whilst also helping to clear any blemishes. I love the lightweight and non greasy formula to this product but the only thing i'm not a huge fan of is the smell but I can get past that as it's a great product. Lastly is a product that everyone should own as it's an amazing multi tasking product that I rave about all of the time! The Weleda Skin Food (£9.95) is one of those products you can use for so many different things, but I mainly use it as a heavy duty moisturiser that I apply to the dry areas of my face to work it's magic overnight and when I wake up my skin looks and feels less irritated.
What are your favourite skincare products?
