DIY: Ring Tin

May 26, 2014

I thought i'd do something a little different today, especially as i'm trying to include more than just beauty related posts on my blog. If you follow me on Instagram, then you may have seen that I did a little DIY with an old Primark candle, nothing too fancy but I wanted to share it with you guys and show you just how easy it is to do.
What you will need:
- An old candle in a tin.
(This one from Primark is still in stock and in a few different colours, so you can still get your hands on it.)
- An old knife, one that you don't mind getting wax on.
- Kitchen towel
-Matches
- An old towel
- Hot Water
How to do this DIY:
Step one: Light the candle and allow it to melt all of the wax within the tin, once it has, blow out the candle and allow the wax to start to solidify.
Step two: After about 10-15 minutes once the wax has started to solidify, place out the kitchen towel and using the knife start to break up the wax in the dish. The wax should still be quite soft, so it should be easier to remove.
Step three: Once all of the wax is broken up, pour into a bag and throw away.
Step four: Next, using hot but not boiling water, fill the tin and again using the knife scrape out any excess wax that was left in the tin. Repeat this step as often as needed.
Step five: Using an old towel, wipe out the tin thoroughly to remove any wax and to give the tin a good clean!
To finish off, pop your rings or any jewellery you have lying around into the tin and place it somewhere on display, and that is it! Simple, quick and your rings will look lovely out on display.

Hope you guys liked this little DIY post, and let me know if you'd like to see more posts like this in future.
