Boots Haul #7

February 21, 2015

If you follow me on Twitter, then you may have seen that this week I received some very exciting news. On Wednesday I had a job interview for probably my dream job and on Thursday I found out that they were offering me the job, so as a little treat to myself I allowed myself to have a little splurge in Boots.
I wasn't really sure what I was looking for, but I knew that I didn't need any new concealers, foundations or lip sticks so but I went in with an open mind and I came out with quite a few new things that i'm really excited to try.

Firstly I knew that I needed to give into the hype of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eyeshadows (£4.99) and I obviously picked up 'On and On Bronze' as everyone raves about that shade and I also liked the look of 'Permanent Taupe' which is more of a matte shade but makes a great base. I used them last night to give a quick sweep of colour to my lids and they stayed in place pretty well, so i'm quite impressed on first impressions.

When it comes to primers, I don't really bother with them all that much but when I tried out the L'oreal Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer (£9.99) I instantly knew that i'd like it, as it is completely different to any primers that i've previously owned. As my skin is quite dull, this works well to bring some extra radiance and brightness to my face without looking shiny and so far i'm loving it!

One product that I knew I wanted to try out was the new L'oreal Brow Artist Plumper (£5.99), as i'm such a huge fan of the Benefit Gimme Brow but being quite expensive, I wanted to see how this performed and so far i'm really impressed. The brush is slightly bigger but is still manageable and sets your brows really well, whilst also providing a slight tint. Also, it is more than half the price of Benefit Gimme Brow, so a definite bargain!

Even though I knew I didn't need any new lip products, when I spotted the Maybelline Colour Drama Velvet Lip Pencil (£4.99) I knew that I needed to try them out as they've been raved about so much! I picked up the shade 'Keep It Classy' which is a berry red shade and even though it is a velvet finish they aren't drying what so ever and they last so well on the lips.

Last two products I picked up are both blushers and when perusing the L'oreal stand they had 3for2 and as I already had two products I could get another free, so I chose the L'oreal Nude Magique BB Blush (£7.99). Now when I swatched this, I found it very strange but also such a good concept. It is a white liquid, that when blended turns into a lovely rose pink blush shade and i'm really excited to see how this works. The other blush I picked up was the Seventeen Cheek Stamp Blush (£4.99) as i've seen a few products like this here and there, so when I saw them in Boots I just knew I had to see what they were all about as i'm loving cream blushers recently. I picked up the shade 'Made You Look' which is a lovely bright pink but transfers onto the cheeks and blends lovely, providing a lovely subtle pink pop to the cheeks and so far i'm loving this product.

So that is everything I treated myself to in Boots and the majority of it was on a 3for2 and I also used my Boots points for some of it, so I saved some money also!

  13. It's really good, probably performs the same a Gimme Brow, just without the added fibres but I find those a little unneeded and often annoying! xx
