5 Daily Staples
March 24, 2015
Taking things back to basics today, as I haven't really talked about products that i've loved and continued to love for quite some time. I was having a look around my makeup stash and I realised that I really do stick to the same products for quite a while, so I thought i'd share some daily staples within my current makeup bag.
With starting my new job recently, my makeup on a daily basis doesn't really change all that much apart from a different lipstick colour here and there, so these products have really been my makeup best friends for at least the last month, others i've been using for longer.
First up is my current brow go to, and believe it or not but yes i'm talking about the Maybelline Colour Tattoo (£4.99) in the shade 'Permanent Taupe'. I recently saw Lydia Rose posting about this being a dupe for the Anastasia Brow Dip, which i've not tried but as I already owned this shade, I thought i'd give it a go. I honestly could not believe how good this was for my brows, as i'd been struggling to make it work as an eyeshadow and finding another use for this is great! It applies so easily with an angled brush and by brows look so defined and so on point, my brows honestly have not looked so good in a long time all thanks to this product.
Onto base products and my primer love affair is just no existent, I have just never found one that wowed me but the L'oreal Lumi Magique Primer (£9.99) is just amazing. The main thing I like about this is the glow it gives to my skin, as it instantly makes my skin look awake even when it's not. It's also a great primer and mixing this in with my foundation just allows my skin to look healthy and dewy, whilst also keeping my foundation stay put throughout the day. Speaking of foundations, if you're a regular reader then you'll know how much I love the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream (£9.99). I've had this same tube since I picked it up late 2014 and it's still going, even though I use it everyday. It just covers everything, blemishes, redness, dark circles, everything! It's also got great coverage but feels so lightweight on the skin and I can see myself using this for many years to come.
Onto the Makeup Revolution 'Golden Sugar' Blush & Bronze Palette* (£6), which has been my favourite palette of the last few months and one that I use every single day. It has everything I need for when i'm in a rush in the morning, but I especially use the two contour shades mainly because they work really well for my skin tone. The blush shades are also lovely and I use them all of the time, but my blush collection is too big to use just these on a daily basis.
When whittling down these products I couldn't not include a makeup brush, and when it comes to makeup brush I have several different ones for foundation and blush, but when it comes to contouring there is only one brush that I use and will continue to use. This is of course the Real Techniques Flat Contour Brush (£22), which I have used everyday since I purchased this and I do not regret it one bit. It is amazing for contouring and this brush is the only brush that you will ever need for contouring.
So those are a few of my daily staples, products that i'd highly recommend and ones that I will continue to love for quite some time.
What are your daily staples?

Desperate to try the primer, and I'm saving my Boots points for the brush. I love the CC cream but its wayyyy too dark on me! x

I ordered the CC cream from Boots, but they sent me the eye version instead, which I have fallen in love with; still need to try the cream though

The Bourjois CC cream sounds incredible! It's definitely something I need to try.

What is the shade range like for the CC cream? I've never tried a BB/CC cream that is pale enough & isn't orange toned on my skin :/
ReplyDeleteI use the Bourjois CC cream and that glowing L'oreal primer - they work so well together to create such gorgeous healthy dewy skin!

I believe I have the lightest shade, which matches fine for me as I'm pale too but it is still slightly orange toned. You'd have to swatch it to find out really xx
ReplyDeleteThese sound like great picks and that brush seems amazing.

The RT brush looks so perfect for contouring! Just a little on the pricier side :(

The L'Oreal highlighting primer is just the best thing ever, I'd also recommend checking out the Radiant Highlighter from The Body Shop, it's just as good, if not better!

Mmmm ... I would say, L'Oréal True Match foundation, Nars Creamy concealer, my Naked palette, Big Eyes mascara and I think a lip gloss, maybe my Tanya Burr in Lunch Date!

I feel like I am the only person that did not like the L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer. Maybe it was just my bottle, but mine started separating and it was disgusting. I prefer the new Maybelline Master Prime Primer in Blur + Illuminate. It really is beautiful. But that that palette is gorgeous! I need to get my hands on that baby :)

I love the L'Oreal Lumi Magique, it's such a lovely primer to use before your makeup to give a dewy finish xx

That Real Techniques brush is stunning, makes me want one just for the looks alone! The Makeup Revolution palette is also one I use most days (which is weird as at first I didn't really think much of it - and actually slated it a bit on our blog, oops).

ReplyDeleteIt is isn't it, I love the rose gold! Haha, oh dear.. at least you're enjoying it now! xx
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more! xx
ReplyDeleteOh dear, that's odd! I'll keep an eye out for that one, for when the Lumi Magique runs out! xx
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any of these products, I don't think - maybe the foundation! I need to try out some Tanya Burr lipglosses! xx
ReplyDeleteYes, I've seen this! I need to go have a mooch around the body shop soon! xx
ReplyDeleteMaybe wait until it's on a 3for2 or something xx
ReplyDeleteOh, for your eyes? As in concealer? xx
ReplyDeleteGood idea! I didn't think of doing that haha! xx
ReplyDeleteI've been loving the Bourjois CC Cream over the last few weeks, I have no idea why I stopped using it, it gives the most flawless finish and even though my skin is exceptionally spotty at the moment it still doesn't look cakey. Plus it's so inexpensive and travel friendly!
